As Vice President, Personal Lines, Erika Marino leads business development efforts for B. F. Saul Insurance’s private client group and oversees the management of client relationships and sourcing of new accounts. She started her career in wealth management, working for Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor before she made the switch to insurance in 2018 when she joined B. F. Saul.
Erika enjoys creative problem-solving and helping her clients sleep better at night. She measures her success through feedback from her clients and finds the challenges of being an insurance advisor rewarding, especially when finding a solution for clients with very difficult exposures. She enjoys getting out in the community and meeting new faces.
One of the most important lessons Erika has learned in her career is to keep moving forward and not dwell on any one failure or success. Her biggest value to her clients is her and her team's service and level of expertise. Having team members that have worked at different agencies and across various insurance companies adds a unique depth of knowledge and understanding to their advice.
To prepare for changes and innovations in the insurance industry, Erika believes that the market will need to become more creative to cost-effectively provide coverage for those living in catastrophe-prone areas of the country. To this end, she and her team are always adding new markets that have the capacity to provide coverage in these areas.
Erika is a graduate of Wake Forest University’s Calloway School of Business. When she's not working, Erika enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband, Joe, and their son, Matthew. She is a certified Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor (CPRIA) and is on the board of the Society of Financial Services Professionals DC Chapter.
