Insurance Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Insurance Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for the agency in support of accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and client/carrier relationships across lines of business. The Insurance Accountant will be a key member of the operations team and take an active role in the development, documentation, and maintenance of related business processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accounts receivable – customer/carrier receipts and direct bill commission processing
  • Accounts payable – agency bill statements and account current reconciliation
  • Month-end/quarter-end/year-end close and reconciliation with corporate accounts
  • Customer invoicing – accurate billing and coordination with service team to ensure timely receipts
  • Production analysis and producer commission calculation, tracking, and payment
  • Surplus lines tax calculation and timely filing
  • Insurance licensure – monitoring, application, and renewal of individual agent and agency licenses across applicable jurisdictions
  • Program business accounting, reporting, and finance support
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Monthly report generation and distribution – billing, aged receivables, and policy expiration
  • Maintain privileged and confidential information

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 2 + years relevant accounting/finance experience preferred
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skill level with MS Excel
  • Demonstrated intermediate skill level with MS Powerpoint
  • Insurance accounting experience using agency management system AMS360 or other desired

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Producer is responsible for initiating new business opportunities and leading client relationships.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, and Practice/Industry Segment Leaders.
  • Develop client ready content, speaking engagements, white papers, etc.
  • Strengthen networking and sales opportunities with membership and leadership in associations, industry groups, etc.
  • Requires 10% net growth for book of business on an annual basis
  • Responsible for initiating new business opportunities – find new clients
  • Responsible for overall client service delivery working in tandem with the team to foster importance of client retention
  • Understand our client’s business and industry – seek out industry news, regulatory announcements, and relevant information
  • Team leadership – assist the team with developing strategy for client goals, manage client expectations, and clear obstacles to achieve team success
  • Develop and execute annual business plan

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 + years of business development experience
  • Relevant insurance industry experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Appropriate state licensing required at time of hire or achieved within 90 days of hire date

Account Executive - Commercial

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Executive is responsible for brokering and managing key clients with a $500,000 revenue target book of business and/or commensurate number of client relationships. The Account Executive will be involved in developing and maintaining the client relationship beyond the annual transactional renewal period. An understanding of the insurance market along with building and maintaining strong relationships with our insurer partners is essential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop client ready content, speaking engagements, white papers, etc.
  • Be visible in the insurance community as an expert in the practice or select industry segment
  • Support Producers and Practice/Industry Segment Leaders at point of sale – help prepare for key prospect/clients meetings; technical resource; coverage review
  • Responsible for growth, retention and client satisfaction when overseeing the servicing of a designated book of business.
  • Coordinating all client related service needs among service team relating to marketing, claims, risk management and placement administration
  • Direct responsibility for client retention, growth, achievement of operating margin targets, and fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement
  • Utilize system capability (AMS/Vertafore) and properly to maintain complete and accurate client and policy data and documents
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients by executing proactive, creative, and on-going contact initiatives
  • Understand our client’s business and industry – support research for Producers
  • Facilitate client contract reviews
  • Account round for coverage and/or policies we do not currently handle
  • Lead team on developing service timelines and takes leadership role in renewal process based on client specific needs and their industry issues
  • Overseas selection of insurers for submission; negotiate quotes; coverage analysis
  • Develop and present renewal proposal to client and do appropriate follow up on post renewal items year round

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7 + years of relevant insurance industry experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Appropriate state licensing required
  • Insurance industry designations are preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with Excel and PowerPoint

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager is responsible for brokering and managing clients with a $350,000 revenue target book of business and/or commensurate number of client relationships. The Account Manager will help assess the risk management needs of prospects and clients and will market new and renewal accounts. An understanding of the insurance market along with building and maintaining strong relationships with our insurer partners is essential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support Producers and Account Executives
  • Oversee the servicing of a designated book of business as relating to marketing, claims, and administration
  • Utilize system capability (AMS/Vertafore) and properly to maintain complete and accurate client and policy data and documents
  • Recommend potential enhancements or improvements to processes and/or current policies
  • Account round for coverage and/or policies we do not currently handle
  • Review status on open claims
  • Develop renewal coverage specifications
  • Select insurers for submission; negotiate and follow up on quotes and do initial coverage analysis
  • Develop and present renewal proposal to client on own book or in coordination with Account Executive with detailed year over year comparison of all elements of program
  • Bind and invoice programs with carriers– review and submit to client
  • Facilitate premium financing
  • Follow up on policy/endorsement issuance and check policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy prior to client delivery
  • Complete Surplus Lines filing, if applicable
  • Issue Certificate of Insurance
  • Follow up for premium payment to insurer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Insurance Analyst is responsible for conducting client research, supporting the pre and post-renewal process, preparing client deliverables, and administrative support.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support Account Executives, Account Managers and Producers:
  • Invoice programs
  • Set up Premium financing and assist with premium payment follow-ups
  • Issue certificates of insurance
  • Order Loss runs and prepare premium and loss summaries
  • Prepare claims reporting manuals
  • Complete Surplus Lines filing
  • Assistance with follow up tasks for account managers and account executives
  • Process FR-19 requests on line
  • Assist with scheduling planning and coordinating needs for appointments, meetings, various events

  • Assist with office supply ordering and organization
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, FedEx packages

  • Assist Producers in the preparation of prospect/client deliverables with desktop publishing resources
  • Assist in business and industry research for a prospect
  • Assist in the preparation, and/or review of presentations, reports, client documents etc.
  • Participate in renewal strategy meetings with Account Executives and/or Producers
  • Assist in the evaluation of insurer quotes and coverage analysis
  • Participate in underwriter discussions with account team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ year(s) of relevant insurance industry experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Appropriate state licensing required at time of hire or achieved within 90 days of hire date
  • Insurance industry designations are preferred
  • Intermediate level of experience with Excel and PowerPoint
