B. F. Saul Insurance, a leading independent insurance advisory firm providing customized insurance solutions and risk management, recently hosted a charity pickleball tournament that raised $13,000 for The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Held on Friday, October 25th at the Montgomery TennisPlex in Boyds, Maryland, the company’s “Paddle for a Purpose” event drew both seasoned and novice pickleball players to enjoy friendly competition while supporting a worthy cause.
Sponsored by Berkley One, The Hartford, MEMIC, PURE Insurance, and RT Specialty, Paddle for a Purpose brought together 24 two-person teams to support The Children’s Inn, a nonprofit organization that provides residential services and programs to children, teens, and young adults with rare and serious diseases.
“We’re thrilled to see Paddle for a Purpose grow in its second year,” said Lanie Raphael, President of B. F. Saul Insurance. “This year, we had the privilege of supporting The Children’s Inn at NIH, and we’re incredibly proud of our community for coming together again to make a meaningful difference. The support and generosity from everyone involved have exceeded our expectations, allowing us to increase our impact. We look forward to building on this success in the years to come as we continue supporting important causes.”
"We are immensely grateful to B. F. Saul Insurance for choosing us as the Paddle for a Purpose beneficiary,” said Diane Kendrick, Manager, Corporate Partnerships & Events, The Children’s Inn at NIH. “We had a blast at the event, and the donation will go a long way in supporting families staying at The Inn. Our mission is to reduce the burden of illness on families, make childhood possible, and help advance NIH clinical research. We thank everyone involved for being a part of it.”
