B. F. Saul Insurance recently hosted a charity pickleball tournament that raised nearly $13,000 for SHARE Food Network, a program of Catholic Charities DC. Held on Friday, October 27th at the Montgomery TennisPlex in Boyds, Maryland, the inaugural "Paddle for a Purpose" event drew both seasoned and novice players to enjoy some friendly competition while supporting a worthy cause.

Sponsored by RT Specialty, PURE Insurance, The Hartford, Berkley One, and MEMIC, Paddle for a Purpose brought together 24 two-person teams along with several guests to support a valuable program dedicated to addressing hunger and food insecurity in the Washington, DC area and suburban Maryland.

“Our inaugural pickleball event was a tremendous success and a terrific opportunity to introduce our sponsors and participants to the wonderful work that SHARE is doing to combat hunger in our local communities,” said Jason Jones, President, B. F. Saul Insurance. “We’re already making plans for next year and hope to see another great turnout and strong financial support for this vital cause.”

“The event was well thought-out and organized—B. F. Saul could not have planned a more fun and perfect fundraiser,” said Yonette Wilson-Williams, Director, SHARE Food Network. “On behalf of Catholic Charities, we can’t thank the B. F. Saul team enough for their energy, efforts, and thoughtfulness towards the SHARE Food Network program. These funds will support affordability of the high-quality, healthy food available to D.C., Maryland, and Virginia families through SHARE."
