B. F. Saul Insurance hosted its third annual charity pickleball tournament, Paddle for a Purpose, on October 17, 2025 at Dill Dinkers, North Bethesda, bringing together 30 two-person teams for friendly competition and community impact. This year’s event benefited Manna Food Center, with proceeds totaling $12,500 to support Manna’s work fighting hunger across Montgomery County. Tournament participants also donated 200 pounds of healthy pantry items to help stock Manna’s shelves for families in need.
Building on the momentum of prior years, the tournament continues to be a high-energy way for clients, insurance companies & wholesalers, and community partners to come together and give back.
“Each year, this event shows what happens when our community comes together,” said Lanie Raphael, President of B. F. Saul Insurance. “We’re grateful to the players, sponsors, and volunteers who made today possible, and proud to support Manna Food Center’s mission to provide dignity, choice, and hope to our neighbors.”
Craig Rice, CEO of Manna Food Center, added: “Partnerships like this power our work. The generosity from Paddle for a Purpose helps keep shelves stocked and families nourished. We appreciate B. F. Saul Insurance and everyone who participated and donated to make a difference.”
This year’s tournament marked the event’s third installment. In 2024, Paddle for a Purpose supported The Children’s Inn at NIH, and 2023’s event benefitted Catholic Charities of DC.
